What is "APO"?

American Postal Owners, commonly known as "APO", is a non-profit membership association for owners of properties leased to the U.S. Postal Service.  Anyone with a common business interest is eligible to join.

Who We Are

American Postal Owners was founded in 1989 by commercial real estate expert, Marvin Bakalar, as an open marketplace and one-stop resource for postal facility owners.  By working directly with this network of owners, APO can offer members more value than any other operating membership association in the U.S.  APO has helped thousands of individuals over the past 15+ years in buying and selling post office properties and negotiating improved terms on leases.

How the Membership Works

American Postal Owners can help members: (1) buy and sell post office properties, (2) stay informed about the most important real estate news, and (3) save thousands of dollars through expert advice on lease terms, option rents, and addenda.

Once the $100 annual payment is received, there are no additional costs and all calls are toll free.  APO will search its database of post offices and compare your lease and income with other comparable facilities.  This information will help you negotiate on a more level playing field with the expert real estate specialists who work for the USPS.  Even if you own dozens of post offices, you are invariably outgunned when dealing with these USPS specialists, unless you have access to resources from other investors.

The Fine Print

The post offices that you see listed for sale may be owned by or may be under contract to be purchased with the right to assign that contract for sale.  American Postal Owners, Inc. is not selling, brokering, or in any way involved in profiting from the purchase or sale of any real estate, other than giving members access to the list.
